It was heartbreaking, but beautiful out there. The circumstances for being there are dire, but the pocket is a place of serenity, and I have walked every foot of it. It's a lovely place.the rapids can be dangerous so plz be cautious. Do not drive over bridge when wet, but it's still a wonder of North Alabama

Great view and very quiet. Looks like they are making some improvements even though it is closed. You can still walk in and go up to the overlook

It was beautiful. We got lost trying to get out of there though lol. Google map kept taking us in a circle because it didn't know that one of the roads (Langston) was closed that takes you to Guntersville to Top of the River restaurant, where we were headed after our visit to the State park. Overall, the park is very serene and we had a break from the hot sun under all those trees.

Wonderful place! Quiet, clean, scenic and miles of walking trails and boardwalks throughout. Great for photography and nature watching. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and reasonably priced camp spots and cabins. Highly recommend a visit but book early!
