Better each time I come. The people in charge are doing a great job. Trails in good shape. Little fishing docks great for kids.
This place is a treasure.

We went unexpectedly to this location and were not disappointed. It’s free to walk around the 1.5mile trail or more if you choose to go off the main trail. There is a charge if you decide to fish but other then that it’s free. Beautiful area to get away from the stresses of the day or week. There are plenty of places to rest if you feel tired but in all reality this isn’t a rough trail. They have a lot cabin on the trail that explains a little bit about the trail which was cool. Overall great experience.

I've been walking that trail since I could walk with my parents. The trail is extremely beautiful and they are continuing to better it by continual upkeep, it just seemed like it's getting a little bit more attention than it used to. Now...on the other hand I did not like the fact that on part of the trail I can see houses, cars, and people from new subdivisions. I think it is definitely having an effect on the wildlife up there.

This is one of the best nature walking/hiking trails in Huntsville, located on Green Mountain. Not only do you get great trails when you get there, but along the way even before you get to the entrance, there are beautiful mountain high views on the way up. If you're not an experienced mountain road driver, you should definitely take your time coming up and enjoying the views along the way. As you walk the main trail you get continuous views of the lake and scenery of the preserve. While this trail is mostly flat, and very easy to walk or run, there are various spots along the way to stop and visit making it even more interesting. Such as; the school yard, log cabin, chapel and more! They have recently added new parts off the main trail that are a wonderful addition. This trail is VERY well maintained and have wooden posts along the ground to help you stay on the path. As well as keeping the paths up to date with new wood posts as the older ones wear down, they fill in run down spots with gravel so it's safer to walk. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this place!!!!

Very pretty. Well maintained. Bathrooms clean. Beautiful view of water. Cute little side gardens, one with the most adorable sculptures carved from wood. Trails well marked and in great shape. Not for bikes, but good for hiking, possibly running. Covered bridge and fishing.
